This position is located within the Operative Care Division at the Portland VA Medical Center.  The incumbent will report to the Chief of Urology.

 

The Physician Assistant in Urology is a member of an interdisciplinary team providing medical services to patients in need of Urology care.  The PA works under the direction and supervision of a licensed physician with delineated clinical privileges granted by the Medical Staff.  Within the physician/PA relationship, physician assistants exercise autonomy in medical decision-making and provide a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services.  

 

The preferred Physician Assistant candidate will possess (please note on application or CV):

1.  3 or more years experience with urology surgery's (current experience).

2.  Skills necessary to assist in all adult urology surgical procedures.

 

NOTE: Must possess or be able to obtain an Oregon Physician Assistant license.

 

Applicant's education and experience will be reviewed by a Professional Standards Board and Compensation Panel (for physicians and dentists) in determining the grade and salary of the applicant selected. The recommended salary may be at any point in the range listed for this vacancy.
