Positions are located at the VA Medical Center located at 3900 Woodland Avenue, Philadelphia, PA..

Three positions will be filled under this announcement - Executive Assistant (EA) for the Associate Director (AD) for Finance; EA for Office of the Director for Clinical Operations, and EA for the Chief of Staff (C.O.S.).

 

Positions require a highly motivated individual who is able to work well independently and collaboratively with peers and possess strong analytical and interpersonal skills and initiative to effectively execute work.  Incumbent must possess a high degree of flexibility and adaptability in mastering a highly demanding work environment that includes short turn-around times for project deadlines. Work must be thoroughly and efficiently completed with minimal margins for error.  Skills in fact-finding, data collection, analyses, quantitative and qualitative methods, and preparing reports is a must along with superior oral and written communication skills.  

 

This Medical Center is a large complex and affiliated facility with over 2000 employees involving a wide spectrum of professional, technical, and administrative occupations. The organization provides Medical, Surgical, Psychiatric and Geriatrics and Extended Care Services in a variety of acute, outpatient and long term care settings.  There is a Community Living Center (Nursing Home Care Unit) and an active Research and Development Program at the medical center.  Services are also provided to Veterans Outreach Centers and Community Based Outpatient Clinics.    

 

WHO MAY APPLY:  Current Federal Employees serving under a career or career conditional appointment, former Federal employees with reinstatement eligibility, CTAP and ICTAP eligibles, and/or persons eligible for non-competitive appointment under Special Hiring Authorities, Veterans who are preference eligibles or who have been separated from the armed forces under honorable conditions after 3 or more years of continuous active service; current employees serving under permanent appointments in the Excepted Service and current employees serving under permanent appointments in the Veterans Canteen Service with 12 months of permanent service may apply.
