Incumbent works in Mental Health Service Line of the Atlanta VA Medical Center and supports the mission and vision of the Medical Center. S/he works as a member of either the Substance Abuse Treatment Program providing care to a panel of dually-diagnosed outpatient veterans in a group setting, outpatient substance abuse/behavioral health evaluations to eligible Veterans who are being referred to our substance abuse treatment program (SATP) and provide consultation to the medical and surgical floors for patients with substance abuse disorders. The Domiciliary to provide health and mental health services for veterans in residence. Acute Inpatient Psychiatry providing psychiatric care to veterans who are currently hospitalized on a psychiatric unit. S/he must communicate and collaborate effectively with a variety of clinicians in order to ensure quality treatment and care to the veteran. S/he submits comprehensive assessments with detailed evaluations of patient's psychiatric and substance abuse conditions including current conditions, past history, substance abuse history, trauma history, mental status exam, diagnosis and future plans for patients seen in a routine and crisis care. S/he will collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, addiction therapists, and social workers in a multidisciplinary treatment team approach.
