The VA Central Western Massachusetts Health Care System is seeking an innovative, creative primary care physicians(family physician or internist) to provide primary care to our Veterans. The VA is undertaking a new initiative to implement a Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) model in all health facilities. Health promotion and disease prevention are an important component of this transformation of our primary care programs. Every member of the PCMH team will work together to deliver exceptional health care to our veterans. Applications will remain on file and forwarded to selecting officials as vacancies become available for a period of 1 year from the opening date of the vacancy. This vacancy may be used to fill part-time, full-time, and intermittent appointments. As of the opening date of this announcement there is currently 1 full-time vacancy in Northampton and 1 intermittent vacancy that will cover Northampton and the Community Based Outpatient Clinics on an as needed basis.
The VA Central Western Massachusetts Health Care System has an academic affiliation with the University of Massachusetts Medical School and Worcester currently has Internal Medical Residents doing a continuity clinic and ambulatory block there. The successful applicant will have an academic appointment with UMASS and will be expected to precept residents. Applications will remain on file and forwarded to selecting officials as vacancies become available. Resumes will remain on file for 1 year after the opening date of this vacancy. This vacancy may be used to fill part-time, full-time, and intermittent appointments.
