TEXAS ARMY NATIONAL GUARD

 

EXCEPTED TECHNICIAN VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

 

This position is located in the USP&FO, Camp Mabry, Austin, TX.  The purpose of this position is to perform studies of new or modified computer applications, develop a plan to accomplish the needed work and to perform the required programming work.

Open Areas of Consideration: Nationwide Excepted. This includes:

• All currently employed full-time permanent and indefinite personnel of the Texas Army/Air National Guard.
• All current members of the Army/Air National Guard and individuals eligible for membership in the Texas Army/Air National Guard.

 

Appointment Factors: This is a Permanent Excepted Position open to Enlisted members ranks E-4 Not to Exceed E-9, Warrant Officers, and Officer ranks Not to Exceed O-3.  This is a Bargaining Unit position.
 
Remarks:  MUST HAVE ONE OF THE CURRENT MINIMUM BASELINE CERTIFICATIONS APPROPRIATE FOR IAT LEVEL II (SECURITY+, GSEC or SSCP) OR AGREE AS A "CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT" THAT THE CERTIFICATION WILL BE OBTAINED WITHIN 6 MONTHS OF EMPLOYMENT AND KEPT CURRENT. PERFORM ADMIN DUTIES AS THEY RELATE TO VERIOUS WEB TECHNOLOGIES, INCLUDING FILE PERMISSION AND FILE OWNERSHIP. FAMILIARITY WITH UNIX TO INCLUDE SHELL SCRIPTING AND CHRON JOBS. MAINTAIN AND UPDATE THE VMWARE 5.0 SERVER POOL AND VARIOUS MICROSOFT SQL DATABASES USING T-SQL AND ORACLE DATABASES USING PL-SQL. C#, HTML AND CITRIX KNOWLEDGE A PLUS.
