TEXAS AIR NATIONAL GUARD

 

EXCEPTED TECHNICIAN VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

 

This position is located in the 136th Airlift Wing, Fort Worth, TX.  The purpose of this position is to serve as a technical advisor to local installation information technology (IT) and communications users in the area of policy and plans as related to IT and communications systems. This involves planning, development, management, and enforcement of approved ANG and local information technology (IT) and communications architecture.  Serves at the lead manager of IT and communications projects, acquisition and control of equipment and services at Flying Wing, tenants and geographically separated units if assigned.  Sixty percent of the work performed involves Information Technology issues and systems with the remaining forty percent involving telecommunications specific issues and systems.

Appointment Factors: This is a Indefinte Excepted Position open to Enlisted members ranking E-6 Not to Exceed E-8.  This is a Bargaining Unit position.
 
Remarks:  THIS IS AN INDEFINITE POSITION WHICH MAY CONVERT TO A PERMANENT POSITION AT A LATER DATE WITHOUT FURTHER COMPETITION.  ALL TXANG UNITS WILL GIVE FIRST CONSIDERATION FOR VACANT POSITIONS TO QUALIFIED APPLICANTS FROM THE 217th TRS.  MUST BE ABLE TO SECURE SEI 266 (IAT-II) WITHIN 6 MONTHS IAW DODR 8570.01M.  THIS POSITION PERFORMS QUALITY ASSURANCE FUNCTIONS FOR THE CYBERSPACE SUPPORT ELEMENTS, IAW T.O. 00-33A-1001.  THIS POSITIION WORKS IN THE FLIGHT HQ, AND IS NOT PART OF THE PLANS BRANCH OR PLANS AND RESOURCES SHOP.  THIS POSITION IS ADVERTISED CONCURRENTLY FOR AGR AND TECHNICIAN FILL.   TYPE FILL IS CONTINGENT UPON WHICH RESOURCE IS AVAILABLE AT THE TIME THE APPLICANT ENTERS ON DUTY.
