JOB SUMMARY:

Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission.  They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations.  The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.

About the Position:
Serves as Operations Officer for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Information Technology (ACE-IT) under the direct supervision of the Division IT Chief, receiving administrative guidance from the District IT Chief, for the local activity assigned, with full authority and sharing responsibilities for and participating in planning, organizing and managing all technical and administrative functions of the local Division/District assigned.  The incumbent manages and oversees the day to day operational controls that service the installations involved in the performance of multifunctional IM/IT activities (network, desktop support, records management, etc.).   Maintains a continuing overview of all programs within the local facility to ensure they are aligned and supportive of the missions.

About the Organization: 

ACE-IT (Army Corps of Engineers – Information Technology) is the provider of Information Management/Information Technology (IM/IT) support for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).   The ACE-IT mission is to provide enterprise-wide IM/IT products and services for all information management functional areas to include Automation, communication, Information Assurance, Records Management, Printing & Publications, and Visual Information.    These services include local support activities, as well as enterprise series such as centralized Automated Information Systems (AIS) hosting, long-haul communications, e-mail support, service desk, and information assurance services.   We provide services to non-exempt sites throughout USACE under the established Letter of Obligation as a result of an A-76 Competition.
