JOB SUMMARY:

The Department of the Interior is devoted to protecting and preserving the natural resources of this great nation, including National Parks, Landmarks, and the well-being of communities, including those of Native American, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians, and affiliated Islanders.

The incumbent is responsible for leading a program management position for the multi-million dollar, DOI-wide “Telecommunications" effort.  The incumbent manages the efforts established to execute full lifecycle project management on assigned projects, and ongoing program management DOI-wide IT initiatives.

This position deals with the current administration and maintenance of those Department-wide telecommunication matters.  This “lead” position is focused on the current operational state of the Department’s IT issues.

This position is located in the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO)-Interior Technology Center, Shared Services, Service Delivery organization.  The incumbent serves as the IT Program Manager for the telecommunications program focus.This position are located in Washington, DC.  Management will, however, consider virtual duty locations at that correspond to current DOI offices.   Pay rates above are based on the DC Locality Pay, specific amounts will be determined based on designated locations.

Applications will be accepted from current Department of the Interior (DOI) employees serving under a permanent competitive service appointment or current DOI employees with eligibility under a special appointment authority for an excepted service appointment (e.g., VRA, Schedule A appointments, or SCEP within 120 days of conversion).
