Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission. They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations. The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.
This position reports to the Chief of the Army Chief Information Officer (CIO)/G-6, Information, Infrastructure and Integration Division (I3D). The IT Specialist specifically serves as a Staff Action officer and subject matter expert regarding Army IT. The incumbent will work in close coordination with Senior Army Leaders and external agencies on behalf of Army CIO/G-6 priorities.
This position is responsible for developing, coordinating and integrating technical policies, guidelines, procedures, and activities to ensure effective, efficient, and economical information management, strategic planning acquisition, and management in support of Army CIO/G-6 missions and objectives. Promotes the requirements of the Clinger-Cohen Act within teams and customer groups. Acts as the customer advocate to the CIO community; acts as the Army CIO/G-6's advocate to customer communities.
