This position is located in the Department of Labor, Mine Safety and Health Administration, Office of Assessments, Accountability, Special Enforcement and Investigations (OAASEI) in Arlington, VA. Reports to the Chief of Special Assessments. The Special Assessments Office conducts individual review and determination of penalty assessment up to $220,000 for violations as set forth in the Title 30 of the Code of Federal Regulations (30 CFR) Part 100.5. The incumbent of this position is responsible for developing assessments of violations of safety and health standards which call for special attention to effect compliance (special assessments) in all mines Nationwide in accordance with applicable regulations, management policies and established procedures.
