The Huntington VAMC is a fully accredited 80-bed acute medical and surgical care facility offering primary and subspecialty outpatient care. Affiliated with the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine at Marshall University. We are located on the banks of the Ohio River adjacent to Ohio and Kentucky offering many cultural and outdoor activities. Minimal driving distance to several larger cities such as Lexington, KY, Columbus, OH and Charleston, WV.

 

The VAMC Huntington, West Virginia is seeking a full-time Cardiologist (Invasive or Non-Invasive). Candidate will conduct weekly Cardiology clinics, will answer inpatient and outpatient consultations, interpret and generate reports for all Cardiology procedures.

Will the Department of Veterans Affairs Pay for me to move? Yes - Standard Relocation/Moving Expenses MAY authorized for this position.  However, the Guaranteed Home Buy Option (GHBO) is NOT authorized for this position.

 

Applicant MAY be eligible to apply for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), based on the availablity of funds.

 

Applicant(s) selected for this position may be eligible for a Recruitment or Relocation Incentive (up to 25%) and which requires the selectee to sign a service agreement.  The amount of the incentive to be paid will be determined based on the qualifications of the selectee.  The incentive will be a set percentage of the selectee's annual rate of basic pay in effect at the beginning of the service period.   This will be the total amount of the incentive, and for which the distribution of payments for the service period to be determined by management.  

 

This position will remain open until filled.  This vacancy will have multiple cut-off dates.  The first cut-off date will be October 15th, 2011 with subsequent cut-off dates of the 1st and 15th of the month.  Management retains the right to make additional selections as positions become available.
