About the Position:
This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25.
This position is located with Joint Interagency Task Force South, Directorate of Resources, Human Resource Center, US Southern Command, Key West, Florida. JIATF South consists of elements from the Dept of Defense (DoD), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), US Coast Guard (USCG): agencies such as FBI, DEA, DIA, and State Dept.; allied military and polices forces. JIATF South is a fully integrated national task force organized to realize the force multiplier effect of the various agencies whose goal is to effectively plan, direct, and conduct detection and monitoring of illegal drug activities. As the Military Support Technician, the incumbent will provide advice and assistance to military personnel on a full range of administrative and personnel support services and requirements and will utilize office automation equipment and various software to prepare correspondence, forms, and reports.
