The incumbent will conduct research in measurement science for real-time virtual reality immersive visualization systems; develop, implement, and analyze real-time graphics processing unit (GPU) algorithms for geometric and property measurements in the context of applications such as nanostructures, flows of suspensions, medical visualizations, building structures, and networks. Performs related tasks, such as generating visualization models, implementing algorithms in computer programs, benchmarking algorithms for a variety of hardware systems, and performing computational experiments. Publishes scholarly papers in journal and conference proceedings and makes technical presentations.
