The position is located in the Office of Health and Safety (HS-10). This Office establiishes worker safety and health requirements and expectations for the Department’s worker safety and health program rule to ensure protection of workers from the hazards associated with Department operations. Conducts health studies to determine worker and public health effects from exposure to hazardous materials associated with Department operations and supports international health studies and programs.
The incumbent serves as a senior advisor to management on domestic and international health activities and reports directly to the Director, Office of Health and Safety. Serves in the capacity as a resource of professional and scientific knowledge in the field of radiation sciences.
