This position is located at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Division, Indian Head, Maryland. As a Computer Scientist you will support the Treaty Support Office (ETS) of the Systems Engineering Department (E). You will design, develop, and program geographical information systems (using ArcGIS) to support treaty compliance for the Department of the Navy. To do this you will utilize Visual Basic, Python, and Microsoft.NET to write and edit software, as well as to design, test, and debug complex programming. You will design and develop programming to improve the use and availability of systems, specifically geographical information systems and information databases. You will then use these geographical information systems to draft and design maps. You must document your efforts by writing processes and steps, creating technical documentation packages, and maintaining configuration control for designated systems sufficient to create training presentations and standard operating procedures, used to train system users.
