WHO MAY BE CONSIDERED: Open to all qualified U.S. citizens. You do not have to be a current or former government employee to be considered for this position.

This is a Permanent, full time position, subject to furlough.  This position is also career-seasonal in nature and does not provide employment on a year-round basis. You may work a minimum of 26 weeks but generally not more than 48 weeks a year. Actual work schedule and period of furlough is contingent upon funding and operational needs.

Bandelier National Monument is comprised of over 32,817 acres, including a designated wilderness area of 23,267 acres and an 800-acre detached archeological section.  The Monument was created to preserve the numerous archeological features of a late prehistoric period which represents the transition of the Pueblo Indians from  the prehistoric Ancestral Puebloan to modern traditions.  Annual visitation exceeds 350,000.

 

Vacancy Announcement Amended:  This is amending Category rating procedures.  Candidates will be ranked into 2 categories.

Category Group I (Best Qualified) - applicants possessing experience that substantially exceeds the minimum qualifications of the position including all selective factors, and who are highly proficient in all requirements of the job and can perform effectively in the position.
Category Group II (Qualified) - applicants possessing experience that meets the minimum qualifications of the position including all selective factors, and who are proficient in some, but not all of the requirements of the job.
