About the Position: Wilmington, NC is a coastal town with a population of over 203,000 in New Hanover County, and is located between the Cape Fear River & the Atlantic Ocean. A university town & major center for performing arts & entertainment. Varied industries from small independent business to major international companies. Housing availability is very good.  We have a beautiful natural setting w/abundant beaches, water activities, golf courses, & amenities for outdoor enthusiasts all four seasons.

 

Who May Apply:

• Current Army Civilian Employees with career or career conditional status.
• Current DoD Transfer Employees (Excluding Army) with career or career conditional status(i.e., Air Force, Navy, Marines, DLA, DFAS, or DoDEA)
• Current Non-DoD Civilian Employees with career or career conditional status (e.g., Dept of Labor, VA).
• Reinstatement eligibles.
• Veterans Employment Opportunity Act (VEOA) - veteran who served 3 or more years of continuous active duty service in the military
• Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP) former Federal employee displaced from a position in a Non-DoD Federal agency (e.g. IRS, VA, Dept of Labor, etc.) in the same local commuting area of this vacancy.

Permanent Change of Station costs is authorized. DNRP is not authorized.

Temporary duty travel (TDY) is 50%.

Must possess and maintain valid driver's license.

Pre-appointment physical exam required.

Will be required to pass motor boat and first aid certification.

Works aboard survey vessell on various inlets and channels.
