The Orlando VA Medical Center ( http://vaww.orlando.va.gov/ Station #675) was officially established effective October 1, 2006, when it was approved as a new VA facility. The Orlando VA healthcare system currently includes a 120-bed Community Living Center (CLC), a 60-bed Domiciliary, and VA's largest comprehensive outpatient clinic at the Orlando site, two (2) large comprehensive, satellite outpatient clinics in Daytona Beach and Viera, and five (5) Community-Based Outpatient Clinics in Kissimmee, Lake Nona, Leesburg, Clermont and Orange City, FL.
The Orlando VA Medical Center is recruiting for high qualified and motivated Psychiatrist. Board certification is Psychiatry is preferred. Recent Psychiatry residents seeking board certification are encouraged to apply as well. Psychiatrists work within multi-disciplinary specialty mental health teams, in Primary Care Clinics around East Central Florida, or an inpatient unit, to include the new 134 bed medical center in the Orlando "Medical City" at Lake Nona which is under construction. The Orlando VAMC is closely affilitiated with the University Of Central Florida College Of Medicine, with VA Psychiatrists engaged in medical student education. Academic appointments and research opportunities are available and encouraged. This is a great opportunity for Psychiatrist who enjoys providing clinical care to veterans and teaching in an exciting progressive setting.
