Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission. They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations. The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.
About the Position:
The work involves extended periods of standing with lifting and moving heavy patients or equipment. Generally the work requires recurring bending, lifting, stooping, stretching, crawling, kneeling and positioning of patients. The work requires being able to defend oneself against, and be able to restrain and treat violent patients.
On a regular and recurring basis, employee is exposed to infectious and contagious diseases, is required to work in various weather conditions. Occassionally may be required to ride in a helicopter to assist with the sick/injured patients.
Duty Location: William Beaumont Army Medical Center, Department of Emergency Medicine, Emergency Room, El Paso, Texas.
