You will work at the William Beaumont Army Medical Center in the Department of Pathology Area Laboratory Services in the Clinical Pathology Service Blood Bank Section of Ft. Bliss/El Paso, Texas.
William Beaumont Army Medical Center is located at the base of the Franklin Mountains in the central part of El Paso bordering 3 states and 2 countries. William Beaumont offers ample free parking to its staff and visitors and is accessible from I-10, Patriot Freeway, and Border Highway. Contained within the medical center is a small exchange, dining facility, barber shop, chapel, credit union, small gym, and a quarter-mile running track is within walking distance. City buses also provide service to and from the Center. The staff of William Beaumont are closely-knit and consider each other as team members within the similar goal of providing excellent patient care to its customers. Caring for our soldiers and their families is an excellent way of showing our support. New employees are welcomed and oriented to these goals.
As a Medical Technologist, the work performed requires regular and recurring physical exertion such as standing for long periods of time, bending over microscopes, and occasionally unassisted lifting or carrying. Working in a clinical laboratory also involves regular and recurring risks to infectious substances and irritant reagents. You will be required to wear protective clothing and take safety precautions.
