This position is located in the Submarine Learning Center, Groton, CT located at the learning sites at the Naval Submarine School, Groton, CT; Submarine Learning Facility, Norfolk, VA; Trident Training Facility, Kings Bay, GA; Trident Training Facility, Bangor , WA; Submarine Learning Detachment, San Diego, CA; Naval Submarine Training Facility, Pearl Harbor, HI; and Submarine Learning Detachment, Guam. The candidate serves as the Senior Tactical Advisor and Mentor for submarine Commanding Officers and is the Principal Advisor to the Learning Site Commanding Officer. The candidate serves as a command experienced expert in all aspects of submarine tactical warfare to support development of Submarine Learning Center curricula and the advancement of Submarine Force tactical doctrine and guidance. The candidate of this position is an expert in both the command-level and watch officer level employment to submarine tactical weapons, sensors, and combat systems derived from, and subject matter expertise gained by serving as a submarine commanding officers or major commander of a submarine command. The success of the United States Submarine Force in both peacetime and wartime mission performance is directly associated with the breadth of experience and the singular performance of this billets incumbent. There are few more significant billets of this importance in the Submarine Force.
