About the Position:
The US Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, provides for navigation, flood and hurricane protection, environmental stewardship, and other water resources needs to benefit the people of southern Louisiana and the nation. Office is located in a modern, air-conditioned office building which includes full kitchen facilities. Freshwater Bayou Lock is a salt-water intrusion control navigation structure located on Freshwater Bayou (a primary stream) approximately 70 miles south of Lafayette, LA, and 180 miles west of New Orleans, La, with the last 10 miles being gravel road. The lock is operated 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Housing in the near vicinity is limited. Government-furnished housing and utilities are not available. USACE New Orleans District
